Mullet Fishing: Safety Rigs

The following are just a few examples of simple rigs that can be employed when legering, to avoid a lost fish trailing a large weight or feeder; anything more elaborate is rarely required, when mullet fishing. For more examples, I would recommend checking out some of the carp and coarse fishing websites; these freshwater anglers are probably far ahead of the rest when it comes to issues of fish safety.

In each of the examples above, barring line tangles, a snapped mainline should not result in a hooked fish being permanently tethered to the weight or feeder.
